This sequence of courses introduces the student to sight singing using the tonic sol­fasolamization system. Ear training includes simple melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic dictation. Exercises progress to a level of moderate difficulty.

Modulation, modal melodies and mixed meters are included in the sight singing exercises. Ear training includes chromaticism, modulation, seventh chord, compound and mixed meters. Prerequisite: MUT 2214.
